A hacker reveals the truth about a spiraling conspiracy after pulling off the biggest data breach of all time.
I’ve had this idea about a super rich guy who was obsessed with knowledge for a very long while now. The true beginnings of it date back to when I was in college and I competed for a $2,000 scholarship. I was actually awarded the darn thing, which I was super grateful for as it covered my books and food expenses. In the interview process they gave a fair bit of detail about the benefactor who funded the scholarship.
It was then that I got the idea of a character that was exceedingly wealthy and spent his capital not on your typical billionaire stuff. Rather, he collected knowledge, and in order to hold onto the power of that knowledge, he stored it away, not sharing it with anyone else.
Over time, he would go onto employ what he called, life reporters, or Reporteroes, who would go out into the world and find nuggets of information that they would bring back to him to horde. This massive and ever growing data horde became known as The Collection of Lost History. The Boreal Arcana series is meant to reveal that collection of lost knowledge, releasing it from the grasp of its master, returning it to the world. But are we ready to comprehend the truth of what is about to be revealed? Are we prepared to understand what it will change?
